Trying to decide whether to work from home or rent an office? Sometimes there is no choice but if there is, read this little article. One helpful tip — if you are working from home but need occasional meeting space there are more and more facilities around town that let you rent meeting space by the hour and day.
Thinking of borrowing from family or friends to start or grow your business? These days it may be your best bet. The enclosed article has some war stories but I would not hesitate to ask if you think there is potential. It raised significant funds for its launch via “crowdfunding”, which I have blogged about previously. They used KickStarter, the such biggest platform, which has a screening process. I have also written about RocketHub, which has a more open and accessible platform and a full educational arm.
