CURRICULUM NON-VITAE

I love working with clients to help them build their businesses, save money on taxes and meet their financial needs.

I have been called a “Master Networker”. I love partnering with professionals, promoting my clients, and connecting interesting people doing interesting things.

I am a partner in a fabulous company (Aaronson Lavoie Streitfeld Diaz and Co.) with broad expertise and a large clientele. My own clientele runs the gamut from medical practices to dance companies; start-up health care providers to real estate entrepreneurs; clients in Florida, Hungary, Ireland…..Lots of artists and other creative types inhabit my world.

I am also a Certified Fraud Examiner and detected fraud in my first audit assignment. Also was a certified expert witness for a landmark civil liberties lawsuit. Other firsts: Helped plan the first same-sex financial/legal planning in RI.

Maybe first? Local accountant with a magnet as a business card. Probably first: three different magnet designs.

I came to accounting “late” — in my Forties (not “the forties”). I spent seven years as the director of a Zen Buddhist confederation of centers. It was a labor of love (until I burned out). My meditation and spiritual beliefs — as well as Jewish values I grew up with — inform my business decisions and ethics.

I currently serve on the Boards of Aurea and ITN Providence. Past board engagements include Providence Zen Center, Second Story Theatre and The Manton Avenue Project.

And then there is my slogan — “Taxes a Btch? Call Rich” (children may now re-enter the room)
